Soup for All YOUR TAX-DEDUCTABLE GIFT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY TODAY. COMBATING HOMELESSNESS WITH COMPASSION. Formed in 2004 in conjunction with the
Housing Coalition and later became a stand alone event. As of January 1, 2020 Soup for All has
become its own 501c3 so we can hold more events throughout the year and fight
homelessness all year around. We raise funds to help the homeless students in our area, help
with utility and rent assistance for emergency situations, fill food pantries and so much more.

Vision

Soup for All is completely volunteer run. Our board members and committee members are all community members who believe there is a great need in our community and are dedicated to bringing awareness to and fighting the homeless battle in our own area.

Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness to the homeless situation in West Michigan. In raising awareness we work to raise funds to help fight the homeless issues that are becoming more and more prevalent in our community.

Who We Serve

Each year we have supported the organizations within our community who serve a need to help fight homelessness. We split our funds between assistance for housing – whether that is utilities or rent or something else – and food pantries. We formed our own 501c3 because we are seeing a need throughout the entire year – not just around our event in November. We are a resource for these organizations to reach out to when they have a specific need and may not have the funds to do this. Soup For All functions as a central location for people to donate to in order to help battle homelessness in our area. We can then make sure the funds go to organizations that are in need without them having to do a public plea. We send the funds within days of them request – so they have those funds immediately at their disposal.

These are the organizations that we have supported in the last few years:

  • Grand Haven Area Public Schools – for their Homeless Service Program (for their Food/Special Needs Pantry & housing assistance)
  • Hope Church – for their Homeless Prevention Program (rent assistance, utility assistance, other related expenses)
  • Love In Action – for their Homeless Prevention Programs (budget counseling, homeless shelters, and other related expenses)
  • The People Center – for their Homeless Prevention Programs (to help with the costs of housing homeless in our community)
  • Spring Lake Public Schools – for their Homeless Service Program (for their Food/Special Needs Pantry & housing assistance)
  • The Salvation Army Grand Haven Corps – for their Rental Assistance Program (assisting those who may need a little help to keep caught up while counseling them to better budget to not be in this place in the future)
  • St. Mary’s Catholic Church – for their Homeless Prevention Programs (rental assistance, utility assistance, and other related expenses)
  • St. Patrick/St. Anthony Parish – for their Food Pantry
  • St. John’s Episcopal Church – for their Food Pantry
